Dear IMIA Members,

We would like to invite you to join a growing global movement called HIFA. HIFA (Healthcare Information For All) is a professional global health network working in collaboration with WHO. Its aim is to improve the availability and use of healthcare information in low- and middle-income countries, so that every person has access to the healthcare information they need to protect their own health and the health of others.

HIFA has over 16,000 members and is supported by more than 280 organisations worldwide – including IMIA! It is currently seeking to increase the number of members with health informatics experience and expertise, to help support its growing number of projects (including a new Project on Library and Information Services). Reciprocally, health informatics professionals with an interest in health in low- and middle-income countries will benefit from contact with the multidisciplinary perspectives and on-the-ground realities that are shared every day by HIFA members.
