IMIA proudly joins its global members in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8th
The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA) proudly joins its global members in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8th, embracing the 2025 theme: #AccelerateAction.
As the global association for medical and biomedical informatics, IMIA echoes this year’s call to action. Through the impactful initiatives of our member societies and institutions, we are committed to driving meaningful change by leveraging health informatics to #AccelerateAction worldwide. This includes:
- Harnessing informatics to design and develop infrastructure that enhances healthcare accessibility and empowers women and girls to make informed health decisions. As primary caregivers in families across both developed and developing countries, women play a crucial role in community health, making it essential to equip them with the resources and technology needed for better health outcomes.
- Advancing opportunities for women and girls by supporting diverse talent, expanding access to quality education and training, and driving initiatives that promote gender equity and professional growth. By fostering inclusive environments in health informatics, we can ensure that everyone has the tools and opportunities to thrive in the field and beyond.
These priorities are more relevant than ever as we navigate ongoing global challenges. IMIA is proud to align with this mission through the launch of our new Special Interest Group, HERoes, and the IAHSI, IMIA’s Academy, new Mentoring Program debuting at MedInfo 2025 on August 10th in Taipei.
Together, we can continue driving meaningful action and shaping an inclusive future in health informatics!
