Officers & Directors

  • The Officers and Directors of IMIA are elected by the Member Society Representatives of the General Assembly.
  • Officers and Directors of IMIA are generally elected at the General Assembly meeting one year prior to their taking office.
  • The term of office is normally for a three year period. The President’s term of office is from Medinfo to Medinfo ( a two year term).
  • Other than the President, who may only serve for one term, officers and directors may serve for two consecutive terms in the same position.
  • Candidates for election are proposed by the Nominating Committee following a process of consultation.
  • The CEO is an ex-officio officer of the Board with no voting privileges.
  • Regional Vice Presidents to IMIA are appointed by their respective regions
  • IMIA Liaison Officers are appointed by the Board and have no vote on the Board
