IMIA Announces Dr. Paula Otero as IMIA Board President- Elect
July 08, 2023 (Geneva, Switzerland) – The International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA), is pleased to announcement the recent election of Dr. Paula Otero as President- Elect for the IMIA Board.
Dr. Paula Otero is an accomplished medical professional with a specialization in Pediatrics and extensive expertise in medical informatics. She graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Salvador (USAL) in 1992 and completed her Pediatrics specialization at the prestigious Hospital Italiano of Buenos Aires (HIBA) in 1997. Dr. Otero also holds a master’s degree as an Executive Manager in Hospitals from the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), which she obtained in 2014.
Currently, Dr. Otero serves as the Manager of Innovation and New Technologies at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires. In this role, she is responsible for driving innovation and implementing new technologies to enhance healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. Her contributions include being part of the initial team that established the Medical Informatics Residency training program at HIBA and actively participating in the development and implementation of the Health Information System known as “ITALICA” at the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires.
