IMIA established an accreditation committee that is tasked with providing an expert and objective assessment of the quality of higher educational programs in BMHI (delivered at universities, academies, colleges, seminaries, and vocational schools, and other career colleges that award academic degrees professional certifications).

 

The primary tasks of the IMIA accreditation committee are:

1. to assess and assure the quality of higher education in the field of BMHI, and to assure that the level and quality of educational programs offered by academic institutions of various types meets the IMIA standard

2. to ensure that process for meeting the IMIA recommendations on education in BMHI are met and that this process is recognized by and transparent for the BMHI community;

3. to promote a culture of quality and thus encourage the improvement of the quality of higher education in BMHI globally

The IMIA accreditation committee fulfills these tasks from an international perspective and in the context of the IMIA recommendations on BMHI education.
