The Mission

Promoting and applying health Informatics best practices in the UAE Health Sector

Emirates Health Informatics Society has been launched on 21-09-2014 as a specialized unit under the umbrella of Emirates Medical Association

Strategic Objectives

1.Developing a National UAE Health Informatics Strategy

2.Developing the National Health Informatics Workforce

3.Developing Adoption Models and Benchmarks for Health Informatics Implementations & Initiatives

4.Establishing Innovation Labs for Health Informatics

Membership Criteria

•Medical practitioner holding a Medical Informatics sup-specialty

•Medical practitioner with Professional Certificate in Informatics such as CPHIMS, RHIA

•Medical practitioner with 5 year experience in Health Informatics

• Allied Health or Health Information System specialists with professional or academic informatics credentials ( to join a special group under EHIS)

Recent Activities

•Co-organizing the annual UAE eHealth Week in collaboration with HIMSS (2014-2018)

•Establishing the UAE HL7 Chapter in 2017)

•We bid for MedInfo2021 and we are planning to re-bid for 2023

•EHIS will organize a regional event on eHealth Workforce Development in November 2018.
