The Sichuan Bioinformatics Society (BISSC) is an academic organization focused on the research and promotion of bioinformatics, medical informatics, and translational informatics. Established in July 2020, the society has grown over the past four years and now boasts 20 branches and more than 1,700 members, primarily from renowned
institutions such as West China Hospital of Sichuan University and Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital. Since its inception, BISSC has been committed to advancing the development and promotion of medical informatics, translational informatics, and bioinformatics in Western China.

It has played a leading role in the establishment of other regional bioinformatics societies, such as the Guangxi Bioinformatics Society and Shaanxi Bioinformatics Society, setting an example and leading the way. Today, BISSC has become the largest and most academically influential academic organization in Western China, and a leader in the development
of informatics in the region.

While leading the development of informatics in Western China, BISSC actively organizes academic conferences, seminars, and training events. In addition, the society strives to establish connections with international and regional academic organizations, including the
International Medical Informatics Association (IMIA), and is actively involved in the research, promotion, and education of medical informatics, bioinformatics, nursing informatics, and translational informatics. BISSC works to promote the spread and development of informatics, contributing to social progress and scientific advancement.
