In accordance with the bylaws, the Nominating Committee is pleased to make public a request to all IMIA Members who are interested in proposing a candidate for the following IMIA Board positions:



Treasurer (2020-2023)

  • Responsible for reporting on the financial matters of IMIA in line with best practices and in accordance with the IMIA Statutes to the IMIA Board and IMIA General Assembly on the financial health of the organization.
  • Responsible for the yearly preparation and presentation of IMIA’s operational budget to the IMIA Board and IMIA General Assembly for approval. Additionally, the treasurer provides the official Auditor’s Review of the Year End Financial Statements to the IMIA Financial Review Committee and presents their report and recommendations to the IMIA General Assembly at the annual meeting for approval.

Secretary (1 year understudy & 3 year term 2021-2023)

  • Responsible for taking the minutes for IMIA’s Board and General Assembly meetings and the timely distribution of the meeting materials such as agendas and meeting minutes.
  • Responsible to become knowledgeable of IMIA’s records and related materials and be able to provide advice to the board on topics such as governance issues, amendments to the statutes, policies and SOPs, that will assist the Board in fulfilling their fiduciary duties.

VP MedInfo (1 year understudy & 2 year term – 2021-2023)

  • Responsible for facilitating the proposal, bidding and selection process for MedInfos – IMIA’s biennial international congress.
  • Chairs the MedInfo Steering Committee, which establishes the contract between IMIA and the MedInfo host country; appoints the Scientific Program Committee and the Editorial Committee; and approves fees, financial arrangements and other issues as appropriate in accordance with the SOP for MedInfo Steering Committee.

VP Services (3-year term – 2020-2023)

  • Responsible for the yearly publication of the IMIA’s annual Yearbook, leading the Yearbook editorial team and working with the IMIA office.

Proposals for these positions must be made on behalf of members of IMIA’s member society, corporate, or academic members and must include

  • A letter of recommendation from the proposed candidate’s Society or Institutional member that supports and clearly states the reasons for the proposal, taking into account the profile, expectations, and skills related to the position as described is this invitation
  • A short CV of the nominee
  • A picture of nominee in jpg or png format


Terms for the positions will commence immediately following the IMIA General Assembly Meeting to be held virtually the week of November 23, 2020 (date to be announced soon).   A current list of Board members can be found on our website –  IMIA Board .

The deadline to submit a proposal is Monday, September 21, 2020 (11:59 PM PT) and must be addressed to the current chair of the IMIA Nominating Committee, Dr. Christoph Lehmann, IMIA Past President and sent directly to IMIA’s CEO, Elaine Huesing at
